On 15 August 2018, the Supergroup, The Domestics played at the Hi-Fi Music Hall in Eugene. I’ve known these guys for years, and while the band was short Michael because he was out on tour with another band. Leo held it down very well. It was a more raucous set than normal, and it was a lot of fun. Joining The Domestics for the show was Little Preacher, a new project fronted by Colin Redmond and local favorites, Holler House.
The Hi-Fi Lounge is one of my favorite places to see a show, and my least favorite place to photograph a show. The Lounge is a great place to go to a show, because the sound is fantastic. As a music photographer, that stage is less than ideal. However, the challenge pushes you to work at trying to get a great shot. If you want to try your hand at that stage, just a heads a up, the LEDs are not very good. The lights don’t put out a good quality of light, they are not very bright, they are almost always set to red and / or magenta, and they flicker like crazy. Like I said, that room sounds great though.
