Do we really need a holiday to remind us?
I am fairly certain that Film Photography Day was started by the film photo company, Lomography. I am sure it’s a good marketing campaign. They even organized a photo-meet-up in New York City. I don’t shoot film everyday, but I used to.
I went out today with my trusty Canon A-1 and a couple of lenses. The mighty River Willamette is much higher than usual. So I walked out there with a camera. Remarkably, I didn’t see any another photographer, much less a film photographer. I didn’t know that today was a holiday until yesterday, otherwise I would have organized some kind of film party. I huffed around town on two separate walks. This is what I came away with.
It was a good day to shoot film.
