Tatas for Toys 2021

A Successful Fundraiser.

The Troupe raised $23k to buy toys for OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

A decade ago a couple of friends realized there was need for toy donations at the Doernbecher Children's hospital in Portland, Oregon. So Aaron Ross and ToX!c put together a variety show with comics, musicians, and dancers. It's been a huge success every year. This was the eleventh year for Tata for Toys, and my fifth time photographing the event.

In 2020, Aaron and ToXIc hosted the event via Twitch because of the pandemic shutdowns and it was their best year. This year was live again back at Dante's and also shown on Twitch live. It clearly worked well, because they raised $23,000.00.

Aaron Ross and ToX!c pulled off another incredible show. This was the eleventh year and the most successful show to date.

Seeing that we are experiencing a global pandemic, attendees and staff had to have proof of vaccination or a negative covid test. Masks were also in heavy use by the performers and staff. It was a socially respectful evening.

We had two musical acts:

Featured sets:

There were a couple of Christmas Carol sets and several auctions for great prizes.

The Baes:

Let's not forget special guest, Santa Paws!

I don't think any of this could have gone so smoothly without Rachel, the show's producer, she's a logistics genius. Along with Kylee they worked their asses off. He made sure things moved along smoothly from set up to shut down. Of course you can't beat Dante's for a venue. The lights, the sound, and the stage are fantastic.

This was clearly a team effort. I love shooting this event. I am always impressed how amazing this cast of characters is.

The years I had shot previously are: 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
